Phyllis Strong

Phyllis (Avery) Strong, RN, of Old Perlican, passed into her heavenly home on September 28, 2014, aged 90 years. She was surrounded by the love of her three daughters and their families and the caring and compassionate staff of the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre. Predeceased by husband, Harry (1970), parents, W. B. and Elsie Avery, and brothers, Ben and Roy. Leaving to mourn with precious memories, her daughters: Marion (Jim) Tizzard of Barrie, ON, Elsie (Brian) Doyle of St. John's and Margie (Carl) Tucker of Old Perlican; grandchildren: Terry (Cheryl) Tizzard, Jason (Rosa) Tizzard, Adam (Caitlin) Doyle, Krista Doyle, Ben Tucker (Dana Murphy), and Emily Tucker (Brandon Oliver); great grandchildren: Ashley Tizzard, Avery Doyle, Krystofer Niedzwiecki and Angelika Niedzwiecki; sister, Rhetta Mattinson of Nova Scotia; brother, Ralph (Betty) Avery of Florida; special niece, Bengenia (Derrick) March of St. Thomas, ON; brother-in-law, Steve (Audrey) Strong of Gander; as well as a large circle of treasured nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ever remembered for the unconditional love she shared with her family and friends. Resting at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican, Tuesday, September 30, 2014, 9:00am. to 9:00pm. and Wednesday, October 1, 2014, 9:00am. to 12:00pm. Funeral service to take place Wednesday, October 1, 2014 @ 2:00pm. from St. Andrew's By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Old Perlican.
