Sylvester Power
1927-2014
Passed peacefully away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Interfaith
Citizen's Home in Carbonear, Sylvester Power aged 87 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (Keyes) Power; parents, Elizabeth and
John; brother, Jim (Mary, deceased); sisters: Eileen (Tom, deceased),
Rita (Phil, deceased) and Kathleen. Leaving to mourn daughters:
Darlene (Jeffrey) Clarke, Elizabeth (Gary) Gillingham, Beverley (Gus)
Collins and Gail (Gary) Power; sons, Paul and Brian (Regina); step
sons, Gerard (Dell) Keyes and Christopher Keyes; grandchildren:
Kristee (Jordan) Doyle, Justin, Brandon, Zachery, Brianna, Riley,
Siobhan and Jared; great grandchildren, Aaliyah and Alexis; sisters:
Fannie (Kevin, deceased) Doyle and Mary Elizabeth (Lar) Walsh;
brother, John Thomas (Irene); as well as a large circle of other
relatives and friends. Visitation Monday, August 4, 2014, 3:30pm. to
10:00pm. and Tuesday, August 5, 2014, 10:00am. ~ 10:00pm. Funeral
service to take place Wednesday, August 6, 2014 @ 10:30am. from the
Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Bay de Verde. Interment to follow in
the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Low Point. Wake service to begin 6:00pm.
Tuesday evening in the funeral home, Old Perlican. As an expression of
sympathy donations may be made in Sylvester's memory to the family to
go to a charity of the family's choice. The family would like to
extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Kay and all the nursing staff and
all other staff for their outstanding medical and compassionate care
during dad's stay at the Interfaith Citizen's Home in Carbonear. A
very special thank you to Anne Halliday and her wonderful family who
made dad's stay and ours so much more enjoyable. Your kindness shown
to dad will never be forgotten.
