Allan "Bruce" Squires
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of
Allan "Bruce" Squires, who passed away on June 28, 2026,
aged 75 years.
Born and raised in Sibley's Cove, NL., Bruce lived a life defined by hard work, laughter, and an unwavering love for his family. For many years he worked as a truck driver, a career that perfectly suited his love of the open road. He took great pride in his work and found joy in veery mile traveled and every conversation shared along the way.
Bruce was a true people person. Everyone was a friend and he could strike up a conversation with anyone. His warm personality, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humour brought smiles to those around him, and he had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome. Whether sharing a story, telling a joke, or simply enjoying the company of friends and family, Bruce made every gathering brighter.
Above all else, Bruce was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He shared a loving life with his beloved wife, Wanda and was a proud father to Bradley (Nancy), Heather (Gary), and Roger (LeeAnne). His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren: Abigail, Gordon, Dalton, Shealyn, and Michael and his precious great grandchild, Sailor.
Bruce also held a special place in his heart for his sister, Maxine (Robert), and deeply loved his many nieces and nephews. He also took great care of his mother-in-law, Dallas. Family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in staying connected with those he loved, always offering a laugh, a story, or a listening ear.
Bruce leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, hard work, and unconditional love. Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find comfort in the countless memories, stories, and laughter he gave us. His spirit will continue to live on in the lives he touched and in the roads that always made him feel at home.
"The road may have come to an end, but the love, laughter, and memories Bruce left behind will travel with us always."
A special thank you to Dr. Nel and the staff of Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican and to Dr. O'Brien and staff at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's for the attentive and compassionate care provided.
