David Martin

1954-2025

David Martin
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Dave Martin, who left us peacefully on October 27, 2025, aged 71 years.

He lived a lifetime filled with love - love for his family, for simple moments, and for the people lucky enough to know him. He was the best husband, dad, and poppy anyone could ask for, always leading with kindness, patience, and quiet strength. Dave faced every challenge with grace and never sought attention or praise. He taught us through his actions what it means to live with integrity and to love without condition.

Left with precious memories and a lifetime full of love are his wife, of 49 years, and love of his life, Linda; his two daughters, whom he cherished, Stephanie Barrett (Brent) and Cherie (Dave) King; his grandchildren, who he adored beyond measure: Bethany King, Rachel Barrett, and Cameron Barrett, (and their dad, Ian Barrett) as well as his step-grandchildren, Addison and Lucas Williams; mother-in-law, Shirley Pryor; sisters-in-law: Wanda (Jeffery) Riggs, Cheryl Oliver, and Bev (Joe) Delany; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends, especially Ronnie Walsh, Jeffery Riggs, Melvin Coish, Karl Coish, and Mic Noonan. He is also survived by his siblings: Tony (Maxine) Martin, Helen (Pete) Petrimoulx, Paul Martin, Sherry Cousineau, Diane Code, and Sharon Wessel.

Born into a large family of eight children, Dave was raised in Grate's Cove by his grandparents, Enoch and Jessie Maude Martin, who played a guiding role in his life and shaped the man he became. Though distance and circumstance separated the siblings over the years, he remained close with his brother Tony, who remained by his side all throughout his illness.

Predeceased by his grandparents, Enoch and Jessie Maude Martin; father-in-law, Billy Pryor, who was more like a father to him; his parents, Martha and Doug Martin; and brother, Jim Martin.

He died as he lived - with quiet strength, surrounded by love.

Cremation has taken place.
