Brian Joseph Noonan

1949-2025

Brian Joseph Noonan
It is with heartfelt sadness, that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Brian Joseph Noonan at the Wilkinson Memorial Health Centre, Old Perlican, on July 1, 2025, aged 75 years.

The second youngest of 11 children, he was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Julia; son, Patrick; and siblings: Felix, Mary, Edmund, Patrick, Carmel, and Thomas.

Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Yvonne; children: Gregory, Daniel (Denise) and Julia;
grandchildren: Lia, Emmett, Jack and Charlee;
siblings: Sheila, John (Dot), Patsy (Gerald), and Lorraine (Wayne);
special friends, Dave and Rochelle Walsh; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and circle of friends.

Brian grew up in Bay de Verde with his older brothers as his mentors. After trades school he spent some time in Labrador, before returning home to start a family and build a life. He was a founding member of the Bay de Verde Volunteer Fire Department, which he served for over 25 years. He was a stalwart employee of Quinlan's, working for nearly 50 years in the engine room.

He was a quiet man with a great sense of humour and dry wit. He enjoyed the simple things in life; reading a good book, a trip to the cabin or across the bay, or going out in boat. He loved a feed of moose or fish and would often remark, "Sure that's the best you can eat!"

But there is nothing he enjoyed more than the company of his grandchildren. His four little ones got the best of their Poppy, exactly the way he wanted.
