Ruth Riggs

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Ruth Riggs announce her passing on May 26, 2024 at the age of 81 years. Ruth was surrounded by her family in her final moments and so much love.

Ruth was preceded by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, William; her parents, Jennie and Lionel Bursey; and her brother, Calvin, all of whom with which she has been reunited.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of beautiful memories are her cherished children who will miss her dearly, Louise (Gary), Jim (Francie) and Lorne (Tammy);
Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Bradley (Jill), Jason (Jodie), Jamie (Jenna), Jonathan (Sheila), Christopher, Michael (Amalia) and Lorna;
great grandchildren: Nathan, Noah, Logan, Mackenzie, Sarah, Anna-Rose, Aiden and Nadia, Who were her pride and joy;
brothers, Don (Marge) and Kevin; nephew, Steven (Amy); and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Visitation at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 2:00 pm. to 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. to 9:00 pm.
Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm. from St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Bay de Verde.
Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Bay de Verde.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of one's choice in Ruth's memory. In remembrance of Ruth's life and love, the family will also distribute any memorial gifts given in her honour among the local community organizations she supported.
